Event Name“SHOOTING STARS vs. RISING STARS, Fostering Camaraderie through Sports”

The benefits of sports transcend school. Studies have shown that people who play sports are thought to be more likely to become more productive citizens and maintain active lifestyles. This is especially true with basketball—it’s a great sport that involves team spirit, physical activity and competitiveness, making you a well-rounded person.

We would like to help promote sports in our city, and neighboring towns for that matter, by holding a BASKETBALL WITH THE STARS EXHIBITION GAME entitled “SHOOTING STARS vs. RISING STARS, Fostering Camaraderie through Sports” on May 8, 2016 at the JMR Coliseum. This event will be between Star Magic basketball players and select varsity players from 10 different schools which are: Ateneo De Naga University, Bicol Central State University of Arts, Sciences and Trade, Central Bicol State University of Agriculture, Universidad De Sta. Isabel, Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, Mariners’ Polytechnic Colleges Foundation, STI – Naga, Naga College Foundation, University of North Eastern Philippines and University of Nueva Caceres. Part of the proceeds will go to the different pilot projects of the participating colleges and universities so that we can help improve the quality of education by striking a balance between fun and learning, making it a more enjoyable experience for today’s youth.

We have invited the Naga Parochial School Basketball Team to play against the Naga City Summer Sports Campers Selection Team to open the event as well as the Archdiocese of Caceres Clergy Basketball Team to honor us with a friendly basketball game against the City Hall Basketball Team so that the attendees will be more delighted and inspired by the fact that people from all walks of life can be united and can all benefit from sports.
